Exploring the eternal
Mt. Fuji
across all ages and cultures.

The Fujiyama Museum, which was completed in July 2003, was planned by Fujikyuko Co., Ltd. in collaboration with Horiuchi Koan Foundation as a project to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the company's founding.

Mt. Fuji has been depicted by many painters since ancient times. Its majestic and graceful silhouette standing alone, as well as the varied expressions it shows from time to time, must have greatly stimulated the creativity of painters, as seen in literary works such as "The Tales of Ise".

The collection of the Fujiyama Museum comprises mainly excellent works by modern and contemporary painters who have approached "Fuji" from their own unique perspectives.

Through art exhibitions and educational activities, we hope to convey the rich natural beauty of Mt. Fuji, an asset of Japan, and to send a message to the world that it must be preserved. We also hope that the Fujiyama Museum will become a place where many people who love Mt. Fuji can gather to experience nature and art.
